The color orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow. Orange brings spontaneity and a positive outlook on life and is a great color to motivate and help us look at the bright side of life. And September is the month we began this amazing journey.
Orange September an event company is located in Albuquerque, smack dab in the center of New Mexico, the largest city of the state. Jerry and Vicki Newsom were both born and raised in New Mexico and will be celebrating 38 years of marriage in 2017. We truly believe in natural moments, that's why we love meeting both parties of a couple for the first time and hearing their unique sides of their story, not only their love stories but also their life stories. So much inspiration is drawn from that time together.
We take pride in seeking the road a little less traveled, pulling inspiration from the daily lives and real life to create timeless and effortless experiences for couples and their guests. Every event should be visually inspiring from the moment your guests arrive until it's time for them to say goodbye. Our goal is to create just that … environments where people will want to stay a little longer, reconnecting with family and friends and depart wishing it to never end. From mountaintops to industrial raw spaces, vineyards to farms, churches to private compounds, we’ve done it. But don’t let the state line stop you. We are travelers and seek adventure wherever it may lead.
Wedding planning kind of found us with our daughter’s wedding in 2011. Our daughter and her husband wanted a unique, non-traditional wedding. Dia de los Muertos inspired with old school traditions such as handfasting and lighting a unity candle with Shakespearian quotes about love, family and friends. The funeral scene in Romero and Juliette, with torn lace, neon crosses and a sea of candles was their inspiration. Easy, right? After struggling, and being unsuccessful trying to find someone, anyone, to help us create this unique perfect wedding for our daughter, we realized that we would have to do this ourselves. Once we posted the photos, we were flooded with requests to help others design and plan THEIR inspired wedding.
This began a labor of love for Vicki, and with Jerry and the help of lots of friends and family, she launched Orange September as a part time venture. Vicki's 25+ years background in the design and advertising field provided her with the necessary marketing and management tools to begin this new adventure. After successfully managing and growing the company for a full year, she decided to go into the planning and event business as a full-time effort. In 2014, Jerry joined her full time and we have met the most wonderful people and have created lifelong friends doing what we love together. Seeing your vision come to life on your wedding day and seeing you enjoying yourselves ... that makes us happy.
